FBA / BIP Training

March 3, 2026

This interactive workshop, hosted by NeMTSS and ASD Network takes a deeper look into essential components of Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP). This workshop will teach about FBA's and how to use them to develop an effective BIP. Having a good understanding of the FBA process increases fidelity of implementation and empowers those involved in the process. A BIP is a written improvement plan created for a student based on the outcome of a FBA. Having a well-written BIP leads to more effective management of problem behavior.

IFSP Outcome Technical Assistance (Cancelled)

March 11, 2026

  •  Audience: All EI teams in the PRT (All SC’s, EI providers, and administrators)
  •  Duration: 2 hours
  •  Facilitated by: RBEI TA
  •  Funding: NDE/DHHS

This 2-hour technical assistance activity is provided by the RBEI TA via virtual (Zoom) or in person. All SC’s and EI providers in a PRT who participated in an RBI Boot Camp received initial training and practice in writing functional child and family IFSP outcomes, and should participate in the IFSP Outcome Technical Assistance. Because the quality of IFSPs are directly influenced by the RBI, this training is best provided AFTER most or all of the SC’s and EI providers are approved and the PRT is fully implementing the RBI as their child and family assessment. Prior to the training, EI teams identify 6 to 12 child and family outcomes which are scored by the EI team, as well as the RBEI TA, using the Quality Outcome Checklist. A comparison of the scores and feedback on the outcomes are provided during the training. Any themes will be identified and the region will create an action plan with next steps to writing quality IFSP outcomes

EL NETWORK

April 13, 2026

The EL Network is a forum for district personnel to discuss issues related to the education of English Learners. Though these sessions are the primary means of sharing information throughout the ESU 4 and 6 Title III Consortia, a majority of our time together is devoted to studying effective instruction, sharing and exploring resources, learning of updates from NDE, and networking with colleagues. We welcome educators interested in our multilingual students, regardless of Title III affiliation or position.

2026 Data Retreat 2-Days (Day 1 of 2)

June 2, 2026

Join ESU 4, NeMTSS, and colleagues for up to two days of TIME, SPACE, and SUPPORT for continued analysis of multiple measures of trend data as part of the continuous improvement process and MTSS systems.

So What’s Important to Know for Data Retreat 2026?

During analysis time, district teams will choose one of two ways to work: (1) District-Led Analysis or (2) Guided Analysis. District-led will be time and space for district teams to use their own established protocols. Facilitators will check in and support as needed. Guided Analysis will be facilitated by ESU 4, NeMTSS, and/or NDE specialists.

Working Agenda & Information: https://bit.ly/4dataretreat26

Include a team member who understands the district Targeted Improvement Plan (TIP).

If your district plans to use the NeMTSS Self-Assessment as a data source, please contact Heidi Farmer (heidi.farmer@esu6.org) to complete the self-assessment ahead of the retreat.

Jen will provide (optional) CLSD data updates and work with each team as helpful.

Title IIA Consortium educators are eligible for a stipend ($175 per full day.)

Fun" damentals of Writing IEP's

June 11, 2026

Whether you are a first-year teacher finding your footing or a seasoned veteran looking to sharpen your skills, writing a legally defensible IEP can feel like a high-stakes balancing act.

The Fundamentals of IEP Writing workshop is designed to turn the "paperwork mountain" into a clear, manageable path. This session focuses on moving beyond basic compliance to create ironclad, robust IEPs that truly support student success while protecting your district.

Workshop Highlights Compliance with Confidence: We will deconstruct every section of the IEP to ensure all legal "must-haves" are covered, leaving no room for error.

Real-World Modeling: No more guessing games. We will provide high-quality, "gold standard" examples for each section of the document.

Transition Excellence: Special guest, Michalla Schartz, will share her expert "tips and tricks" for crafting meaningful transition plans that meet Indicator 13 requirements and set students up for life after high school.

Partner Services: Meet with our regional partners to learn about the specific support services available to your district and how to integrate them into your students' programming.
