Satisfaction with Home Routines Evaluation (SHoRE)

January 21, 2026

The Satisfaction with Home Routines Evaluation (SHoRE) was developed by RA McWilliam (2005) to serve as a simple means of collecting information when the family has experienced little to no significant changes within their daily routines. The SHoRE provides the opportunity to rate 12 common home routines and the rating scale matches that of the Routines Based Interview (RBI), i.e. perceived family satisfaction. The RBI is an actual interview, structured to gather not just satisfaction with routines but also a description of the child’s participation within those routines and with their family. The RBI is considered a child and family assessment, and therefore the SHoRE should not be used as a substitute when an RBI is appropriate. The training provides a structured guide to the use of the SHoRE. Participants will be able to watch a live demonstration as well as practice gathering pertinent information to inform their IFSP’s. A review of the Early Intervention Ongoing Assessment Guidance is included. Lastly teams will have an opportunity to create an action plan for Ongoing Assessment based on the knowledge gathered during the training.

Audience: All SC’s, and any EI Providers responsible for conducting child and family assessment for their district or ESU.

January 23, 2026

The EL Network is a forum for district personnel to discuss issues related to the education of English Learners. Though these sessions are the primary means of sharing information throughout the ESU 4 and 6 Title III Consortia, a majority of our time together is devoted to studying effective instruction, sharing and exploring resources, learning of updates from NDE, and networking with colleagues. We welcome educators interested in our multilingual students, regardless of Title III affiliation or position.

FBA / BIP Training

March 3, 2026

This interactive workshop, hosted by NeMTSS and ASD Network takes a deeper look into essential components of Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP). This workshop will teach about FBA's and how to use them to develop an effective BIP. Having a good understanding of the FBA process increases fidelity of implementation and empowers those involved in the process. A BIP is a written improvement plan created for a student based on the outcome of a FBA. Having a well-written BIP leads to more effective management of problem behavior.
