Description | | Is your literacy instruction evidence based? Do educators involved with problem solving know how to identify evidence based practices?
During this professional learning session, participants will assess their current use of evidence-based reading strategies and learn to strengthen them. The Central Regional Education Lab at Marzano Research will facilitate a review of the requirements of the Nebraska Reading Improvement Act and define what ‘evidence-‘ or ‘research-based’ really means. The session will include an orientation to the Nebraska Reads practice guide summaries included on the NDE website. Participants will also apply a process for using data to select evidence-based literacy practices and learn to translate practice guide summaries into classroom and school practice.
