In SY26–27, ESU 4 is advancing its commitment to high-quality literacy instruction while strengthening teaching practices for students with disabilities. With Nebraska’s adoption of a universal literacy screener and a continued focus on improving outcomes for all students, ESU 4 is pursuing a cohesive, district-aligned training approach to delivering standards-aligned, high-quality instructional materials (HQIM) across tiered instruction for students with disabilities. In partnership with SPED Strategies, a select group of districts will
participate in a free professional learning series, focused on effectively implementing Amplify’s CKLA to expand access to HQIM and improve outcomes for students with disabilities.
ENSURING COHERENCE
The Materials Matter for All (MM4A) pilot is designed to align with districts’ current NeMTSS efforts and existing initiatives across the state, namely, Materials Matter, Nebraska Literacy Project, and the Journey to Inclusion. The MM4A training series will support general and special educators in delivering accessible, Tier 1 Core instruction to all.
OUTCOMES
- Stronger Tier 1 Core instruction using HQIM in general education classrooms
- More fluent use of HQIM with students with disabilities
- More effective collaboration between general and special educators
ELIGIBILITY
- Be using Amplify CKLA (Grades K-2) or CKLA (Grades 3-5)
- Have readiness indicators based on successful curriculum adoption
- Commit to completing surveys that help gauge the impact of the pilot
FUNDING SUPPORT
This series delivery is funded in partnership with NDE and MTSS. ESU 4 K-5 public educators are eligible for substitute reimbursement through the ESU 4 CLSD K-5 Consortium. |
